The book appeals to people with South Asian heritage as well as non South Asians who would like to know more about this topic. With its unique format, the target audience can explore the different aspects of colourism and start conversations about this topic within their community.
The brief I constructed detailed that the project would focus on different aspects of colourism within the South Asian culture. I planned on creating a publication that would get people talking about this topic. I created a uniquely formatted book that was mostly visual with its portrayal of the stories that were shared. I interviewed and collected different stories anecdotes and personal experiences from friends, family and people who wished to remain anonymous. Personal photographs and illustrations were used throughout the book.
